The PAC12 finished 1-8 for the worst showing by a P5 conference ever.

These are of course related since the B1G played the PAC in 4 bowl games, winning them all.

Bowl season is still a small sample size.  Nevertheless it does have impact on perception of relative conference strength.

True.  The one Pac12 team that did win (Utah) beat a B12 team (WVU).

One other note, two Big 12 teams that were underdogs (Texas, ISU) won their games.  Hopefully,  OU (+2.5) can make it three.

The SEC is 2-5 at present.  Best they can do if you count the nat champ game as a bowl, is go 5-6 (that’s if both UGa and Bama win today, and then they’ll go 1–1 in the champ game) or 4-5 if you don’t count the nat champ game.

So it’s a losing bowl season for the SEC no matter what.

Hardly.  If we end up with 2 SEC teams in the big one, you can forget about all the other SEC bowl losses.  SEC hype and mania will double.

Oh yeah.  You’re right about that.  Darn.

You're only as good as your competition forces you to be.

Basically, Nick Saban has driven Georgia (and Auburn to some degree) to be as good (almost) as Alabama.

But make no mistake, Saban is the culprit of SEC hype and success.

The man is the best.  And as long as he is around, the SEC lore lives on.

CFB is a funny thing.  Just as we are knee-slapping and gawking at the SEC's bowl record, we find ourselves staring straight into the eyes of the first all-SEC NC game.

Where did we go wrong?  What have we done?  I want my college football back.  Two schools from neighboring states tucked away in the bottom corner of the country.  Will anyone from California watch this game?  Anyone from New York?

Should we bring back at least some pittance of academic qualifications to play college football?  Could that even things back out?  Do these academic bastions called "Universities" really even care?  This is a joke NFL farm league, masked behind the pompetus of higher education.

Engineers, doctors, lawyers, businessmen define their self-worth based on whose idiot boobs beat the other guy's idiot boobs.

What a country.

well, we may have 2 teams from the same conference, but at least they are not from the same division nor is it a rematch from earlier in the season

Perhaps the only silver lining.
But football is football, and I'll be watching.

Every change to the postseason has made the sport worse. And this is where we end up.

Well, at least we can still argue...

UCF beat the team that beat both the teams that will play next week!

UCF got hosed.

Expand the Playoff!
