They have a certain elegance in Europe we often lack here in our rush to, whatever it is.

This was Malmo Hus, an old fort, now a museum or considerable note, it cost $4 to enter.

They don't check tickets there, even on the subway very often, it's a honor system, no turnstiles.  Malmo had beautiful parks nearby, really nice city to visit, it was cloudy and chilly but never rained there on us.

The is the classic image of Copenhagen, Nyhaven, which means "new harbor, though it's 300 years old.  The buildings were painted different colors because they lacked street numbers.  This below is one kind of smorrebrod, shrimp on toast in effect.

This was from the lounge atop our hotel downtown Copenhagen showing Radhuspladsen and city hall.  The city had a number of "pladsens", open areas like this one, surrounded by shops etc.  The hotel was a CitizenM, great location, rather strange hotel otherwise, but it worked.  Below is part of the lounge, which was quite nice.

This is Hans Christian Anderson Blvd, at rush hour, not that much vehicle traffic, a lot of bikes.

Another part of the city had some large lakes which used to have a military function near city walls (now gone).

A photo of the moat around the Chappelet, the existing fort north of the city a bit.

Part of the castle, they have a Queen, we toured the stables and the castle fairly much.  They have relatively no "security" visible around their Capitol building, we could walk right up to it and see inside.

This is their Capitol building, and a few bikes.  The stone pavers were tough on my feet.  I have another photo near a subway station that probably shows well over a thousand parked bikes.  They are mostly "simple" bikes, maybe three speeds, everything is flat.  Many have carriers for goods or smaller kids in front.

We went inside Hotel d'Angleterre for a bathroom and I snapped this, really fancy hotels with fares to match.

This is their Capitol building.  Part of it is for the Queen, part for the legislatures.
