any and everything a person purchases or owns is fair game for judgement from others

such as a big black cowboy hat or a hockey jersey

so, choose wisely

I suspect any of us with the means buy cars based on some combination of needs and wants.  Obviously, I have in my life.  I used to lean to a vehicle that had good handling, ride was very secondary, I liked to corner, back then.  Some.  I had one really slow minivan that met my needs, not my wants,  then another one that wasn't all that slow and was more comfortable, that was nicer to have, then I went to sedans and finally this CUV thing, which is "OK".  I "want" my wife to like our vehicle, I suppose that's a need too.  The Tucson satisfies our needs pretty well and some of the wants, like memory seat.

What I WANT at the moment would be a CT4VBW with a 6 speed.  Or a Corvette, the Stingray.  Or a Porsche 911.

I don't want a crew cab F150 that costs $85 K, nor do I need one.  I can rent a pickup for $20 at Home Depot should I ever need one.  I don't tow anything ever, obviously that becomes a need for some folks, I guess one could argue you don't NEED any kind of RV, but again, we all make our own decisions.  RVs make for excellent vacation experiences, I've been party to a few, my wife doesn't want to know about it.

Speaking of, I do occasionally wonder what it'd be like to have a small camper van and travel the hemisphere in it for months at a time.

New Vanspeed Summit Adventure Camper Van Is Based on All-Wheel-Drive Mercedes Sprinter (motortrend.com)

Holy cow.  I'm  guessing I could get a pretty nice lowish mileage used something (not this fancy) for not nearly this much.

$20 K???

If I'm buying a Mercedes Sprinter-based camper, then it's going to be an Aistream Interstate.

Amongst all the incredible cars that Steve McQueen owned, the ultimate and most iconic was his custom Jaguar XKSS. He was notorious for blasting around the Hollywood Hills in it, burning rubber with four-wheel drifts around the tightest corners.

McQueen had his repainted in British Racing Green and called it 'The Green Rat' - but despite the dismissive moniker, it remains one of the most desirable cars in the world with an estimated value around $30 million thanks to both the model's scarcity and the Steve McQueen coolness factor.

Jaguar has long made some very beautiful cars.  Very few clunkers over the years.
