Should be a fun day
Noon
#5 Penn State at #13 Minnesota, ABC: Both teams undefeated, both teams can make the playoffs, should be a heck of a game. Minnesota has risen to #10 in SP+, so despite their level of competition they are playing very well. But things are about to get tough.
Maryland at #3 OSU, FOX: OSU a 44 point favorite in this game. Last year OSU let up 51 points to Maryland. This year they've given up 62 points total through 8 games. They gave up 339 yards rushing to Maryland last year. Through five conference games they've up 533 yards rushing total. Defense - it's important!
Purdue at Northwestern, BTN: Purdue can still make a bowl. Northwestern probably not. Northwestern's offense has cratered to #126 in SP+ out of 130 teams. They haven't scored a touchdown in a month.
#11 Baylor at TCU, FS1: Baylor is undefeated and in first place in the B12. They aren't all smoke and mirrors, either, at #15 in SP+. But they are going on the road against a decent team a week after struggling against WVU.
3:30
Illinois at Michigan State, FS1: Illinois goes on the road needing just one more win to clinch a bowl berth. Sparty has a bye after three very disappointing games, and themselves need two more wins though they also get Maryland and Rutgers later. MSU's offense has gone downhill after a promising start, down to #88 in SP+.
#1 LSU at #2 Alabama, CBS: You may have heard of this little game - could be sneaky good!
#20 Kansas State at Texas, ESPN: Texas has been a touch team to figure out with close losses to LSU and Oklahoma as well as close wins over Kansas and Okie State. Their defense is dragging them down (SP+ #86) and they welcome in Kansas State, who have a three game winning streak including their big win over the Sooners.
4 pm
#18 Iowa at #16 Wisconsin, FOX: With Minnesota undefeated in conference and both of these teams having two losses, this looks like a loser is done game. Wisconsin in particular is looking tog et back to their dominating ways - a third straight loss knocking them out of title contention would be devastating after their start.
7 pm
Missouri at #6 Georgia, ESPN: Georgia has Mizzou has the creamy center of their sandwich, as they got up for Florida last week and head to Auburn next week. Mizzou had been looking like a pretty decent team until losses at Vandy and Kentucky. Unlikely they can do much against Georgia, but then it was unlikely that South Carolina could too.
7:30
#4 Clemson at NC State, ABC: Your ABC night game is a snoozer where NC State tries to take down Clemson after blowout losses to Wake Forest and Boston College.
8 pm
Iowa State at #9 Oklahoma: Sooners got a week off after losing to K. State, but things not decidedly easier as they get a solid if snakebit ISU team. ISU is #18 in SP+ and two of their losses are by a total of three points to Iowa and Baylor.
