NR Wisconsin (0-1, 1-2) vs. #12 Notre Dame (4-0) Post Game
« on: September 20, 2021, 08:16:55 AM »
The game this Saturday is at Soldier Field in Chicago at Noon on Fox.  The Irish have looked good so far against some not so great teams.  The Badgers have a close loss to Penn State at home in the season opener. That Penn State game is a great argument for not scheduling conference games for the season opener.  A bye last week end should help the Badgers stick it to the Irish.

On Wisconsin!

I'm not sure ND has looked "good" at all.

yeah, this. They really struggled with awful FSU & Toledo teams. Purdue hung tough with them most of that game and little bit of home cooking helped ND pull away in that one.

I've got Wisconsin in this one.

Time for Graham Mertz to have a good game.  Doesn't have to be spectacular, even a game manager type of performance with 0 turnovers should be enough for the Badgers to win this one.

I have not seen enough out of the UW offense to give me confidence here. The defense should keep them in this game, but there is a big X factor too.

seems about right. I could see this being a 21-17 type game. Wisconsin.

Is there some reason for a two game series to be played on neutral fields?

ND didn't want to play in Madison.

Silly, to me, they did play in Athens of course.  Part of CFB is the venue obviously.

They had a two game set in Soldier Field and Lambeau. Lambeau is named after a former Irish player, so some admin somewhere thought that would be a great idea. The Lambeau game got moved to 2026 because of COVID. I hate neutral site games and I wish they would get shot into the sun.
