Speaking of Elmos. They were quite fastidious in their desire to keep from bottling their sauce for retail consumption, as the potency of horseradish in cocktail sauce begins to degrade fairly quickly after it is made. I typically walk in there and buy a fresh pint or quart for parties.
Apparently since bottling it at Costco and now elsewhere, it's seen significant market share. They also have bourbon and colas now. Pretty great brand to market of course. I still prefer to buy it fresh for immediate consumption. Even a good jar of horseradish sauce doesn't maintain that kick after a week or two.
Btw: yellow mustard still the best adhesive for any meat rub for smoking.
