All of these "news" channels are about one thing and one thing only. Ratings.

They say outrageous things to get people riled up, and people do for some reason. People need to stop watching this crap and do something else for "news" other than listen to someone rant.

That goes for Tucker too. It's all evil and it's all divisive. Period.

Same goes for social media. It's all bullshit.

My advice to people who want to be active in politics is to start local and work up from there. That really makes the most impact on your everyday life.

None of us can do anything about what goes on in DC because nobody in DC gives a shit about us - until the Novembers roll around every couple of years.

Screw them.

Act local. Act positive. Make a difference.
great advice all around.

Sweden and Finland formally submit application to join NATO. Turkey moved today to immediately block discussions on accepting those applications.

Word War III may just not start if Erodgan can block it for good. NATO expansion requires every member agreeing to it.

I also think it's really stupid and dangerous that Finland and Sweden are rushing to NATO and that the whole process has been completely undemocratic.

They should've put it up to direct vote for the people of those countries to decide. Not opinion polls or research or focus groups.

Put it on a ballot- and let the people of those countries decide. Period.

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic says that Croatia will block Finland and Sweden from joining NATO.

BTW...it took Greece TWELVE YEARS to allow North Macedonia into NATO. Over a name spat. Yeah, that's literally it. A name spat.

which is why none of them should've been allowed in, in the first place.

Turkey isn't a little country however- and they are a much bigger and richer country than either Sweden or Finland- they are nearly a NATO OG (since 1952) and they are FAR more important to NATO than either of those two Nordic countries- for a lot of reasons. Obviously....Black Sea, Straits of Bosphorus, and Mediterranean Sea and all.

Fear was and is the element required.  I would have thought it would have been the UN not NATO, but I guess it's all the same... what's in a name?

Politicians ought to have the most boring jobs in the world.  We see them seek supervisory positions instead of the management jobs they actually are.  The executive branch is more a leadership/supervisory role, but the rest are freakin clerks.  No more.  Except that they've made a soap opera over it and developed contingents of fan bases... theyve elevated themselves to something akin to the WWE.  ..... and we watch it as if its some sort of smart and informed persons subject exclusively and accuse our opposition of being dumb or lacking information.... and set out to fix that... losing friends and creating separations that may or may not heal along the way.

We're friggin ALL dumb.  We let this happen.  Worse, we let them do this- the media realizes how vital the contest is to their success.  So they do not a thing but toss fuel on a fire.

The problem is this isn't a game.  People of other nations and people of this nation are at irreconcilable differences and are willing to kill because of the games they play.... and we play.

The proposal of not allowing any US representatives, or senators, to seek higher office, I find intriguing. As repulsed as I am by career politicians, I think I might find the new breed of representatives, from both parties, who are purely seeking a national brand to seek higher office, worse

I should also add how much I think closed primaries are fueling this fire, in the current climate. Pennsylvania just rejected every rational option, because no rational voter was allowed to participate in the primaries

Do you know why they have closed primaries

Its to keep the opposing party from choosing the candidate they want to run against

Now Im not saying I like closed primaries but I understand why they exist
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Because they're parties and the candidate is beholden to the party above all else, it hardly matters which candidate is selected then elected.  It matters to the candidate only because they get to be the rich one.... for us mere plebs,  it doesn't make a bit of difference.

Tell me again how parties and organized crime are different?
