Just about everything in this post is hyperbole or completely false.

He violated every kind of basic right?  OK then.  He lined'em up and shot them.  It's of course not martial law.  Civilian courts are still operating.  Military lockdown?  Entire country?  A country has a right to manage "protests" which are obstructing traffic and commerce.

You tell folks to leave, and when they don't, they get arrested.  You have no right to block a major artery in the US or Canada.
yeah, no. you really do not know what you're speaking about. At all.

This reminds me of the pregame "analysis" of UM-UGA where maybe UGA had a slight advantage at TE and LB, but everywhere else Michigan was clearly superior.  Watching films of the Michigan DEs was giddy thinking about how often they sack that poor little walk on Dawg QB who was nowhere near as good as even the Michigan QB, who probably wasn't as good as their freshman QB.  The Michigan running game was way better than UGA's.

And the Michigan Offensive Line, my goodness, they were best in the country.  UGA hadn't really played anyone but Alabama who torched them.

It all sounded pretty good until the game started.

It would be unusual for one of "us" to get a different figure at some tax prep place if the inputs are the same.  It isn't magic, and they use software much like TT et al.

The main thing I like is how TT downloads my info from Schwab automagically.
as a tax/accounting professional, the benefits to having an accountant isn't necessarily them knowing which forms to fill out. as has been said, the tax programs aren't dissimilar from tt and other do it yourself software. if all you have is a w-2, some int/dividends and/or stock sales, mortgage interest and other itemized deductions (likely not going to matter for most anyway, for fed), student loans maybe, then you'll probably be fine in the do it yourself category. and this is generally what i recommend to friends and clients when they ask.

where it's really beneficial is when you have business(es) and/or other unusual tax situations and can do some tax planning. and this is usually done before year end. if you wait until after year is over, there's little that can be done, it just is what it is.

Then they shouldn't be charging people anything.
most of the time, people doing the data entry for the big box tax prep places have no more experience and expertise than you. they aren't cpas, aren't accountants, and usually aren't even registered agents with irs. it's a seasonal $8-10/hr job for them. and then an accountant/cpa/registered agent comes in behind them and reviews the forms for errors. i'm sure most do a decent job reviewing them, but i've seen more than a few that were... less than satisfactory. a lot of times, they also have so many to review it's nearly impossible for them to give good oversight to all of them.

as for not charging people for it, well, as i said above, when asked about it from friends/clients, i'm honest with them on how they might save some money by doing it themselves. and they'll likely be ok. but i have no issues doing a simple return if that's what they choose. and my time is valuable.

Nor do I, so long as it has sprouts, water chestnuts, carrots, onions, garlic and some kind of protein in it.

Western European leaders pissed at Biden administration for all the war talk and not sharing any of the "intelligence" with their countries. Why not share the intelligence with your closest allies? Most likely because there is no intelligence.

yeah cause that is totally relevant to this discussion.

Trudeau has gone full dictator. What is going on in Canada is literally insane and unprecedented. Oh and that little bridge you were crying about being blocked- I would be sympathetic if it wasn't owned by a dickhead billionaire (well family of billionaire as he died like a year ago - and trust me- he was a massive dickhead- I've had the pleasure of meeting him before- he went to high school with my grandfather) who spent decades and $50 million of his own money trying to block a new publicly owned US-Canada bridge that is to be owned 50-50 by both governments. He blocked it for awhile but they are finally building a new publicly owned bridge.

Ukrainian President slamming the US, saying you guys are telling me that Russia is 100% invading us. Then put sanctions on them. Why wait until after we're invaded to put sanctions on them if you're 100% certain they are invading. Basically: put up or shut up.

He's already ripped the Biden administration for all the hype and hysteria and asked them to calm the f down with the invasion/war talk.

I'm a guy who wore an N95 mask into a gas station yesterday when nobody else was masked.  But Trudeau's overreach is concerning (to say the least), and has helped drive a wedge into this being a political thing, when the best thing would simply be for everyone to get whatever vax is currently recommended and then life the remaining mandates, while allowing those who feel more comfortable doing so to do so.

Is this now a pandemic of the unvaccinated?  Yes.  But continually making the unvaccinated the "other" helps nobody.

The Canadian courts are still in full regular operation.  Trudeau is subject to their decisions, and also the decisions of his party in Parliament, and eventually the voters.

Dictators don't have those sorts of restraints.  They get to dictate.  Was there some part of said video above where the police pointed a gun at an arrestee?

I quickly scanned it, I saw the horse incident.  Police everywhere use horses for crowd control at times, and at times things happen.  Horses are large and powerful animals.

I believe what they wanted was for the government to lift the vaccine mandates and the vaccine passports. Passports were always a terrible idea- we don't really have those in the US and I believe if the federal government tried a nationwide passport there would be outright war in the streets- not peaceful protests by truckers like in Canada- which is probably why they never happened here.

As far the vaccine mandates- the science is in. The vaccines will not stop transmission, so to me there is really no point in having a vaccine mandate. In most if not all cases it will provide protection from serious illness/hospitalization/death but it won't prevent transmission or reinfection. Doesn't matter how many vaccines or boosters you get- you will get covid. All of us. If the mandates were about stopping the spread- well they don't stop the spread so I don't see much use for mandates. Get the protection if you want it, don't get it if you don't want it.
