not only do I agree with you but 72% of the public does too

MLB has seriously misjudged their fan base
Maybe they just wanted to do what they thought was right?

Fan Death

There is a common belief in South Korea that falling asleep in a closed room with an electric fan running can lead to death. Cases of suspected fan death are sometimes reported by the media, and new fans are equipped with automatic timers as a precaution. Though fan death is technically possible, as the use of a fan can hasten dehydration and thus lead to heat exhaustion, the more popular ideas about how fans might kill people have all been debunked by science.

B)  if this was the case, I'd die every night

since the MLB all-star game is being moved, I read this article.

https://www.onlineathens.com/story/news/state/2021/03/28/new-georgia-voting-law-what-does-sb-202-change-elections/7038406002/

I didn't see anything in there that seemed to make it unusually difficult for people of color to cast a ballot.  But, my lens is different than some.

Perhaps this writer is biased.
Hmm, then I wonder why they bothered with the bill in the first place?  Who might it affect?  Seriously question.

The MLB is doing a booming business with China and boycotting an American city

They should not be mixed up in politics and they will learn this the hard way

It gives the government some leeway to throw out the vote if the people get it wrong

all votes that are not from a real live eligible voters should be thrown out

without this law it gives either side the ability to commit massive fraud

The massive fraud........that has yet to happen.  Domestically, anyway.

whether there was massive fraud or not isn't the issue here

the reason for the changes is to gain the people's trust that there won't be massive fraud in the future

some folks obviously thought there was some fraud going on in the last election maybe a few elections before the last one

assure the people that the next election isn't rigged

I went to the bank the other day. I had to show my ID.

I went to get a vaccine. I had to show my ID.

I had some surgery the other day. I had to show my ID.

I rented a car last week. I had to show my ID.

I'm going to get to the airport soon. I will have to show my ID. 17 times.

Why on earth would showing ID NOT be required in order to f'ing VOTE?!?

Easter plans?

Having my FIL and step-MIL over, and we have the kids this weekend. Doing roasted leg of lamb with root vegetables and mashed potatoes. I think my wife is cooking a lemon bundt cake as well.

My arm after the shot isn't very sore, so thinking I'll hit the range with the kid at some point today.

What airports are you going to? I fly a semi-regularly and I’m pretty sure they see my ID once. Flying to China or something?

I don’t particularly mind the idea of simply having to possess an ID when you vote. That seems fine. I do worry about it potentially being used to leverage someone in a bad spot. Historically when the right to vote was denied, it was done using mundane sounding tools.

Not that I’m necessarily saying that is the case here. I am of a split mind about it. I think a lot of the criticism is overheated. But I also think it is being done with a not particularly good justification I would not doubt the potential for nefariousness.

Wisconsin actually had an interesting example of this nefarious approach. They passed a voter ID law a few years back, and it said that a student ID could count. That makes sense. But they installed a few random qualifications, namely that the ID had a signature and that it has to expire in a term of two years or less (both these things are silly). It disqualified a large number of IDs from University of Wisconsin Schools, including Madison. Alas, the devil is in the details when it comes to underhandedness.

In the end, we will just have to see how it plays out. (I also saw Cobb county pushed their economic impact bit, which are always comically overheated)

I am finishing a halfhearted attempt to follow the date hair rules of Passover, and let me say,l, that description is making me incredibly hungry. I suppose a meal itself actually would pass the test of the restrictions. But not the Bundt cake
