has anyone here ever gone to sleep with a hard decision to make or an unsolved problem and when you wake up you know the answer

In grad school, I had a very perplexing problem in the lab, the Boss couldn't figure it out either.  We kept pounding away, nothing made sense.  I woke one morning around 2 AM and realized what the solution might be, I got up and went into the lab to run some tests, and sure enough the tests were aligned with my solution.  I was sitting outside the bosses office when he arrived at 7 AM and showed him the data.  That was pretty cool.

It was a reaction that generated B from A, but then under the same conditions also produced A from B, so it kind of ran in circles, which is why none of the kinetics made sense.  Got a nice pub out of that one.

Just got off a Zoom with my financial advisor. Obviously this is an anomaly, but we did 70% on our holdings last year, April to April.

This year will be a little choppy still, but we're project 22-26% for 2021.

How'd y'all make out last year?

My personal account is basically ESPP and RSU, and the value there has almost doubled in the last 12 months. 94 was talking about the shortages, and that helps that account. The one different plan I'm going to have this time relative to the last big run-up the company had is that when I actually think it's peaked, I'm going to get out and diversify... Probably take a big tax hit at that point, but worth it to avoid losses.

The rest of it is 401K so I don't look at it too closely. Supposedly my 1-year return there is almost 73%. Hope they do a good job retaining it lol...

90% of my stuff is very conservative - S&P 500

I did nearly 100% on the other 10%

overall was about 17% from Jan to January
