Alabama says "hold my beer"...

And then there's always the capability to move-- leave the state where you don't believe in the politics and move to one where you do.  That's the beauty of federalism, the beauty of our constitution, and the beauty of this great nation.

God Bless the USA. :)

I strongly believe in this. It’s often my advice to people who complain about people they don’t agree with moving into their state.

(I would also note that some states have taken steps to either criminalize the act of leaving the state to do something that is legal in other states or criminalize the act of facilitating those things, and that is some thing that can buzz right off)

Notice I didn’t say abortion in my post. I deliberately omitted it.

I don’t have strong feelings either way. What I do know is that you have two sides that passionately believe completely opposite things. This isn’t the same as other issues like taxation or social programs either where you have wiggle room to compromise.

One side believes strongly that abortion murders unborn babies.  Full stop.

The other side believes that it’s a woman’s right to choose.

You can definitely argue some sort of middle ground, where most people would be ok with it as long as it’s before “x” timeframe, and the other side thinks it would be ok up to the 9th month. I think it’s been well established that most Americans would look the other way as long as it’s done somewhere around 2-3 months.

As has been stated, we tend to get these polar extremes as outcomes because so few people vote in the primaries.

Will be interesting to see how the polls turn out.

No one thinks an optional abortion should happen up to 9 months.  The 'not outlawing it up to that point' thought is that as a last resort in a drastic medial situation that it's still an option.

Nobody is advocating for a pregnant woman deciding in the 8th month that she doesn't actually want a baby and going into a clinic and getting an abortion.  It's a myth.

Actually there are a few. Not many, certainly not the majority. But they are out there.

8 years ago, they promised they would.

Seems to me they were merely acting.
