Finally, we can stop talking about when Michigan will figure it out. Everyone gets to be calmer.
Let's be honest- Michigan under Bo in the 70s and 80s had some dominant runs where he was losing 1-2 games a year max- some years even going undefeated when you factor in ties- but it started to tail off in the late 80s and early 90s. Gary Moeller was losing 3-4 games a year, and if he was winning 11 or 12 every year, he probably wouldn't have been fired for his public drunken outburst.

Lloyd Carr took over and was losing 4 games a year until he hit lighting in '97 with arguably the greatest college DB in the history of the sport, and a future 1st ballot NFL HOF'er in Woodson. The only other time LLLLoyd as he was known- had 2 or less losses in his career was in 1999- when he kept trying to give Henson the job over Brady- and in 2006- when they lost to Ohio State in the "game of the century".

Michigan never produced a lot of high level football talent- never had that sort of history like Ohio did and still does to a degree- and they have to share what little talent they have with an in-state P5 program in MSU- something Ohio State doesn't have to deal with- and remember- Michigan is a decaying shit-hole and has been since the late '60s when the riots caused Detroit to fall off a cliff and every one to leave, and it's problems have only been exasperated by NAFTA and Permanent Trade relations with China- those two moves caused millions of good paying manufacturing jobs to leave the state and crippled it's economy- and caused millions to flee the sinking shithole state. The decaying state and population flee has caused what little talent it produced to sink even further.

Only way they'll ever come back is if they get a coach that can go anywhere in the country and load up with elite players. Like Urban Meyer can. Like Nick Saban can. RichRod couldn't. Hoke couldn't. Harbaugh can't.

The good thing about being on the West Coast was that it was apparent much earlier than you guys back east that the compelling finish we were all looking for on the TV programming wasn't happening, so I got to sleep at a pretty reasonable time.

I was many IPAs in, but didn't hit the brown liquor.
I started with wine, Bordeaux.  Drank that bottle mostly by myself, had one beer (Okotberfest), decided beer wasn't what I wanted, so then I got into the whisky,

I was printing and cutting all evening.  Didn't turn my TV on until 9pm EST.  Switched between MSNCB and FN.  It was funny to watch FN call VA waaaaay before NBC did and have a segment where their stats guy spelled out why they called it one way when the numbers showed it another way, early-on.

That's got to be a tough job - being a stats guy for a viewership who is suspicious of anyone with a degree.

So, you were viewing Fox News then?

How anybody watches MSNBC after they f##n hired John f##n Brennan as an "analyst" and pushed an evidence free based conspiracy for 3 years is beyond me. It's an echo chamber for incredibly stupid hyperbole and they never have anyone on that disagrees with anything they say.

The people on that network that try to tell the truth get fired, and the people who visit who try and push back against the narrative the Democratic establishment want to peddle are never allowed back on.

CNN is just as big of a joke. They let Fredo get on there and talk about meatballs and sauce with his brother but never once maybe ask him why he forced covid positive people back into nursing homes which absolutely killed tens of thousands of people. Remember- nearly 50% of all deaths from this thing are who? PEOPLE IN NURSING HOMES.

Gee, how funny. And then they go and hire James f###n Clapper- a man who should be in F#$@NG PRISON for committing a felony and perjuring himself under oath in front of the Senate- and pay him $1.5 million a year to be an "analyst" and push evidence free based conspiracies. Absolute lunacy.

I have my issues with Fox News as well, but right now, they look like rookies when it comes to propaganda pushing compared to the other cable news channels.

Maybe we should eschew politically oriented rants here "In Other News", as this thread is indeed "other news" you won't find on the regular news.

I'm having left over chili for lunch.  There ya go.

NY has still not released the total number of deaths from coronavirus in nursing homes. Cuomo is the only governor of any state that has not released this information. Wonder if this has anything to do with it....

Wonder why CNN never asks that. Nah, instead let's get him on CNN with Fredo and joke about meatballs and sauce and how big his nose is. Hahahaha. So funny.

I'm eating a school lunch where the main entree is a soft pretzel with cheese dip.

Maybe an issue where both parties can come together is school lunches.  Maybe the cheapest crap possible isn't a great plan?  Maybe soft pretzels w/ cheese or chili fries shouldn't be a main entree for our children.

Oh wait, nope.  We can't.  It's a politicized issue of public vs private and the dishonestly-named "school choice."  Never mind.  I was wrong to think that.

"school choice" in parameters apt to this site:

If all of Wisconsin's and Iowa's and Penn State's best players could just transfer to Ohio State with no sitting out, and whenever they want to.

And Wisconsin/Iowa/Penn State cannot recruit anyone to replace them.

I don't see how school choice relates to lunch quality, but whatever.  I'm sure if students generally want to pay more for better food, they could get that done.

They were awful back in my day well before "school choice" was an option other than paying for it yourself.

My mother always packed a lunch for us. Is that still an option, or are people just too damn lazy?

Right, wrong, or indifferent, the school lunch program exists to help feed people who are near or below the poverty line. It's means tested.

Why should I in California have to "come together" on what students in Arizona are eating for their school lunch?

This should be a local issue.
