Games You Plan On Attending This Fall 2020
« on: June 13, 2020, 12:26:50 PM »
Of course everything is up in the air with how virus precautions could limit attendance, but here goes:

Oct 9: Colorado @ Arizona - when I called my school's ticket office they wouldn't sell me single game tickets until they decide on an attendance plan in late July. Colorado is the last of the PAC 12 teams I haven't seen in person.

Oct 24: Stanford @ Oregon - with work planning on sending me to Portland for most of October, might as well check out Autzen.

Nov 21: LSU @ Auburn - was thinking of Auburn's Nov 7 game Vs Arkansas, but my booster friends talked me into the higher profile game Vs LSU. Either way the South really cools off by November.

Hopefully I can fit another game or two in.

What are your guys' early plans?

I'm up in air.  May double up on a game near Augusta around Masters weekend

If we have CFB in some sensible form, I'll be delighted to watch on TV all fall.

It will be interesting to see if there are any single game tickets available this fall; if so, whichever one I can get - that's the game I will go to.  On the other hand, maybe I will wait and get tickets to whatever bowl game my Huskers are sure to be in this year (I have faith in them to make it).

I will not be attending any games this year, or probably ever??

I no longer find it as enjoyable as I once did, and now there is a risk associated with going.

Hard Pass.

We were talking about traveling at brunch with our friend and his friend.  We all agreed that right now air travel is out.  They are both from Turkey and have family back there.  The wife of course has family in France she'd like to see.  It's not tenable, they asked my opinion as to when I might get on a place, I demurred.  I have no date in mind.  I would not fly except in an emergency situation, and I'd drive quite a distance to avoid flying.

Similarly with any crowded event, not happening, there is no critical need to go, so I'm not going.

I'm happy to be able to walk around town and dine out on occasion again.

It's probably safer to fly now than at any other point in history. The level of sanitization is off the charts, and everyone is required to wear a mask. There is no service once on board. You grab a bag on the way in, with water and a snack inside.

And it's pretty cheap.

Maybe, the idea of flying to France right now is not in my cards, and the posted rates are not cheap.

I'll attend the local Turkey Bowl in the Park behind my house.

This was the first year of not attending at least a single game since 2005 when I was deployed with the Navy. Fourteen straight years since 2006. Even during my two seasons living in Europe I managed to schedule my return visits around attending a few games. This year COVID, along with a work project tying up most of my Fall weekends out West (where no attendance of any kind was allowed), killed any chances.

Anyone at all manage getting to any games?

I toyed with the notion of going to the Peach Bowl but not long, that was it.

One issue was transportation, normally I'd take MARTA to MB stadium, not so much today obviously, haven't been on it since 2019.

I would love to drive up to Indianapolis to watch some NCAA Tournament games.  I don’t even know if they are allowing fans and even if they were it would be less than a 5% chance I’d actually do it, but I’d really enjoy that.
