Wisconsin
1. Josh Oglesby, OT: Was very competent and once got voted All-Big Ten. Injury prone and had bad knee issues. Relatively good recruit, didn't meet the hype
2. Logan Brown, OT: Freshman now, who knows?
3. Nolan Rucci, OT: Just signed
4. Anttaj Hawthorne, DT: Three-time all-conference, once AA. Anchored one of the best defenses UW has had
5. Justin Ostrowski, DT: Undone by injuries. Sad story, football-wise
6. Travis Beckum, TE: Freak athlete who started on the defensive side, but they kinda knew where he'd end up. Was hyper productive as a soph and junior despite not really blocking. Injuries made his last year a mess. Really produced, but since crowded out by other UW TEs
7. John Clay, RB: Won a conference rushing title and offensive player of the year. Posted 3,400 yards and 41 TDs in three years, one as a backup, one limited by injury. Got fat and left us wanting more.
8. Brett Bell, CB: I think he was good at points. He was bad as a senior after a torn ACL. Also hit by a Michigan punt in a crucial close loss in 2001
9. Darius Jones, DL/LB: Modestly good defensive lineman, injured a lot and had his career cut short
10. Graham Mertz, QB: Jury still out. This year has been weird for him
11. Nick Hayden, DT: Three-year starter and generally very good. HM all-conference twice
12. Trey Wedig, OT: Still too early to tell
13. Dan Voltz, OG: 2.5 good years, then injuries ended things
14. Jack Nelson, OT: Still too early to tell
15. Jaden Gault, OT: Left program with depression, found a blood clot issues and never played.
16. Vince Biegel, OLB: Longtime contributor and starter. Not the most statistically dominant backer of this era, but second or third team all-conference three times
17. Kraig Appleton, WR: Thrown off the team after robbing a drug dealer
18. Joe Thomas: One of the greatest players in UW history
19. JP Benzschawel, OT: Enrolling this year
20. Tyler Westphal, DE: Missed two seasons, transferred twice, finished up at Oshkosh
21. Cole Van Lanen, OT: Has started, was not as good as hoped this season
22. Riley Mahlman, OT: Enrolling this year
23. Jalen Berger, RB: Freshman this year, seems like he will be good, but hasn't been as instant impact as hoped
24. Nick Herbig, OLB: Freshman now, has played some. I think he's been OK thus far
25. Corey Clement, RB: He was a beastly backup his first two years. Then, when he was supposed to take over, he got concussed and had other issues. He wrapped his career with as grinding a 1,345-yard season as you'll see, but he was vital for a 11-3 team.
