LOL... Ohio State fans know what to do with this weather. It's the Texas fans that are flummoxed.
It's not whether or not Ohio State fans know what to do, it's the fact that there will be huge numbers of Texans driving on the roads, all around the metroplex and all around the stadium.

That should scare anyone to death.

Just like I tell all my yankee transplant friends when they scoff at the weather and insist they'll be fine driving through it.  I say, "Oh, I know YOU'LL be fine.  It's the 900,000 Texans on the road around you, that are the problem."

Oh, I hear you. I feel the same way around SoCal when we get the tiniest amounts of rain.

Of course you probably have those Texans who think that having 4WD will help them brake better in the snow :57:

This is so true. I was in the South once when it snowed and yikes, stay off the roads to stay away from the Southern drivers!

In defense of Southern drivers, every year here in Cleveland the first workday with snow is a complete clusterf$@k! I think we forget over the summer how to drive in winter conditions so literally every year in Cleveland when the first snowstorm hits we drive as if this was Atlanta and we'd never seen ❄️ before.

LOL. The one thing that I do realize is that we have a similar thing here in SoCal with rain.

We'll go 5 months without rain. Then that first rain hits, and ALL the various oils and other crap that's embedded into the pavement after 5 months of no precipitation starts to lift and seep out. The first hour or two of that first seasonal rain, driving is like driving on snow/ice.

New transplants who are used to driving in inclement weather can easily be caught out in that scenario because they've never lived someplace that goes 5+ months without rain, so they don't understand how dangerous that first hour or two can be.

Yup, we definitely have plenty of those.

Personally, I just stay at home when the weather goes to shit.  I'm fortunate to have a job where I can do that, of course...

Driving aside, it's fucking weird that it never rains out here.  I love LOVE the total lack of mosquitos, but still.  We've gone far longer than 5 months with not a drop of rain.  Many times.  I grew up having a rain shower every single day, at least 9 months of the year.

half the roads in DFW are elevated (major HWYs and interstates)   that stuff freezes and nobody can 'drive on it'.     has nothing to do with who's from where.   that combined with a city that wisely doesn't budget to have 1000s of plows (w/ salt) for oft chance there's ice/snow for a college semifinal means ya'll fkd.

Yup.  ROI on investing in ice/snow handling infrastructure for roads in large southern cities is almost zero.  Occasionally it causes a problem.  Just unfortunate timing.

Jerry don't care, the seats are sold and the teams are present.  Play ball.

All you need are some chains for the tires.

I haven't seen tire chains in quite sometime.Back in the day when it seemingly snowed from Thangiving to opening day of baseball, then yes. The thing is years ago temps stayed consistently cold and didnt vascilate backforth like the last couple of decades. It's 15° right now in Northern Ohio with a bit of a breeze  🥶

I think the location of these neutral site games is frequently overblown, but I wonder if it matters as far as attendance here.  You are now talking 3 bowl games, as to 1 or 2, and last week is during the holidays and the first one, so you get people that want to guarantee a trip.  Then next week is the championship.

This week you have to take work off.  If you win you are going to the championship, and you'd probably want to go to that, and if you lose, well, you are probably glad you missed it.  But if you don't have to hop on a plane.  If you don't have to book a hotel.  If you don't have to take time off work.

Seems like this one could be a HEAVY Texas crowd
