I want to believe so bad that Michigan can win, but at this point I really think this program with Jim Harbaugh is just cursed. We can't have nice things. Ever. I think it started with that muffed punt with 8 seconds left to lose in epic fashion vs Sparty- some kind of voodoo magic juju was put on them then and it's never come off.

I mean to lose your #1 WR in the opening game of the season in the same season your admissions BUNGLED the early enrollment of your prized WR signee and he decides to transfer rather than wait around to enroll in the fall- what. the. f**k. man. This shit does not happen to other programs. Ohio State gets it's 1st round WR's to come back for their SR year for christ sake.

Ronnie Bell is M's best WR by far and kid with a real NFL future (pre-injury) and Xavier Worthy- this is a hot take here- but he's the most talented WR in the entire country. He's a 6'1" DeSean Jackson. Kid has elite everything except upper-body strength & mass but that will come with time in an S&C program. Kid runs 10.2/10.3 and 4.2-4.3's in his sleep, and also has elite change of direction and quicks, hands, and body control. Absolute genetic freak and he's literally like a non-midget DeSean Jackson- who was all of 5'9.5 on a great day. Can't help but be bitter that both these guys should be playing in this game this Saturday for Michigan.
OSU lost its NFL bound safety, Josh Proctor, early in the year.  It happens.
You are overthinking this.
Two very good teams going at it in a rivalry game.  Never plays out the way you think.

a few key plays will turn it- and Michigan and Ohio State are loaded with dudes capable of making those plays.

it would not surprise me even a little if these teams reversed roles. Buckeyes use the running game for sustained drives- Michigan gets explosive plays out of their passing game.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Time does seem to pass faster as one ages.  I think when we are kids, we are looking forward to events and dates anxiously, Christmas, a trip, whatever, we can't WAIT for it to get here, so time passes slowly.  Later in life, we stop this, we're consumed with what needs doing daily, and we don't notice that X date is approaching and it seems to have come upon us quickly because we weren't anticipating it daily.

Chilly weather, some wind as a bit of a factor, classic rivalry game with clear national import, chance for JH to solidify his coaching position, etc.  It's kind of neat when a classic like this one is really important and the outcome in some doubt.

Obviously, a great receiver might or might not make circus catches, but I think in every case they have elite speed and change of direction/route running skills, even if they don't get targetted.  Most good teams have one elite WR you have to double, or at least pay extra attention to.  If you have two, it's problematic.  They will get open on nearly every play.  And we're not even mentioning that big TE who gets covered by a LB.

must have better LBs in the SEC if they are still using them to cover the TE

Does Ohio State put 100 points on Michigan?  Could have done so to Sparty.

If you need to double both WRs, the STAR position might be on the slot or the TE, so you can be left with a LB on the TE fairly often.  UGA has a pretty good freshman TE who often is outrunning an opposing LB from what I've seen.

Understanding Pass Defenses - Inside The Pylon

. In man coverage, linebackers most frequently cover running backs and tight ends, though they may also cover slot or wide receivers at times. Linebackers also commonly rush the quarterback, especially in 3-4 defenses.

understanding pass defenses - it's called a nickle or dime ;)

I still find it humorous that Brett Farve wasn't aware of what a nickle defense referred to for quite some time
