good of you to throw out the COVID season
well, half his players opted out and they only played 6 games. Hard to judge.

Because he is a 95-year-old trapped in a 57-year-old’s body, Jim Harbaugh broke out a marble reference when talking about Michigan’s opportunity to win the B1G East and play for a conference title for the first time under the head coach.

“We want to finish it,” Harbaugh said after Michigan smacked Maryland. “We want to win all the marbles.”

Do you think the Wolverines hit up the soda fountain once they got back to Ann Arbor? Maybe they decided to shoot some dice in a back alley, as well.

Praying for 4 hours of cold, high wind, and steady heavy rain/snow starting at 11:30am on Saturday.  Only chance I see for Michigan to win.
I don't think that there is a rule against using snow machines.

not sure snow/rain discourages a great passing game all that much to be honest. I guess it depends on the QB. I heard Brady say he loved it- because he and his WR's gain an advantage- they know where they are going with the ball before they go there- the DB's don't- they are reading and reacting- and snow/rain hurts their footing/reactions more than the WRs.

again...the ONLY chance Michigan has in this game is for Hutchinson & Ojabo to show the hell up and both go beast mode. That is literally their only chance. They will ALSO need their DB's to not drop interceptions if they get their DB's get opportunities to make plays; talking to you Hawkins, Moten, and Dax. Can't have any ALMOSTS. Need to capitalize on every single OSU offensive mistake- need to make every INT and Fumble recovery when those opportunities present themselves- EVERY single one- literally have to be perfect there and MAKE those plays- and they literally also need Hutchinson & Ojabo to ball out. Weather won't matter. Those two key factors will be the only thing that matter- Hutch & Ojabo and making turnovers every single time when the opportunities present. As good as Michigan's D has been- they have been ASS when it comes to making the turnover plays- they drop OH so many INT's and they fail to recover fumbles like a motherf****. They CANNOT do that vs OSU. They need to convert those opportunities and they need Hutchinson & Ojabo to play lights out...OR THEY WILL LOSE.

on offense Michigan certainly does not have anywhere near as advanced a passing scheme, as good a play-caller as Ryan Day, as good a QB as Stroud (having said that- I think JJ is more gifted), any one single RB who gets as many volume carries as Henderson, or 3 WR's as polished and smooth as OSU's - but they do have guys that can hit some home-runs and make plays.

At RB Blake Corum & Donovan Edwards can both pop long runs if they get into the open field- both these guys have afterburners. They both also catch the ball really well- especially Edwards. Haskins is the main ball carrier and starter and deservedly so- dude is a beast, but Michigan hasn't had backs with home-run hitting speed like Corum & Edwards since like the 90s or early 2000s.

At WR Roman Wilson and AJ Henning both have after burners. They can get behind a defense and eat up ground in a hurry. These are probably the two of the three fastest guys on their entire team along with Dax Hill. Wilson is a conventional WR, Henning is used more as a gadget, screen/reverse/return guy- but he's fast as shit.

Cornelius Johnson is a possession guy- but he's a lot faster than you think. He can really run for a guy that's pushing 6'3, 210. Andrel Anthony doesn't get quite as much playing time as the others but whenever they put him in games all he does is make plays- and he's so smooth and fluid and has great hands- only a freshman but he's going to be one to watch- star potential is big with him. Mike Sainistril is almost the forgotten guy- he's not big, he's not a 4.3 or 4.4 straight-line speedster- but he's very quick in and out of breaks and his acceleration is elite. He can make a big play every once in awhile.

At TE, Erick All is an emerging weapon that really hasn't been utilized anywhere near his full potential yet. Last year as a RS frosh he dropped basically every football that was thrown to him- this year he's worked on his hands and they've improved drastically- but he's been dealing with injuries and nowhere near 100%- but he's made some splash plays- this is a dude that has a lot of straight-line speed for a 6'4, 250 pound guy- he was booking it on that little 50-yard catch and run game-winner vs a really good Penn State defense in Happy Valley- he can make a play.

Obviously sucks not having #1 WR Ronnie Bell and obviously sucks even harder that admissions bungled the Xavier Worthy early enrollment and he's not here. Add those two guys to Michigan's roster right now....HOLY CHIT.

How many guys on either team's two deep have ever even played in an OSU-Michigan game before?

Haven't squared off since the 2010s.

F injuries and F early enrollment and F early departures.

This Michigan team is a legit playoff level team with Jalen Mayfield at LT, a healthy Ronnie Bell at WR, a true frosh Xavier Worthy in the WR room, Cam McGrone starting at ILB, and Ambry Thomas starting at CB1.

Every one of Mayfield, Thomas, and McGrone leaving made zero sense to me. McGrone started only 9 games, ever. Mayfield, 13. Thomas really only started one year, in 2019. Both Mayfield and Thomas opted out 2020. Those two guys return and have dominant seasons in 2021- they are likely 1st rd picks- instead of 3rd rd picks. McGrone leaving was just insane- he was nowhere near ready- which is why he only went in the 5th rd.

Can't control injuries- but it really sucks Bell got hurt. And Michigan's recruiting and admissions departments really just f*** themselves in the a** on Worthy- never seen anything like that- not sure we ever will again. They apparently made a gigantic mistake and enrolled too many other kids early and didn't leave a spot for Worthy- and he didn't want to wait around so he left. I don't know how they did that- but jesus christ it's like this program is cursed.

Michigan would be undefeated right now with all those players on their roster and I'd actually give them a real shot to beat OSU if they had those guys.

Random question: Who would be the better QB for the Buckeyes Saturday, Fields or Stroud?

Fields- he can neutralize the rush with his athleticism. He'd have been the #1 overall pick by a mile had he comeback. Having said that, he was a 1st round lock- and if you're a 1st round lock- you gotta go, imo.

Fields definitely bigger and stronger and faster, but Stroud gets the ball out quicker and is a lot more difficult to sack.

Fields has done more under duress than Stroud.  Stroud gets it out quickly most times, but has also generally had a clean pocket on his deep throws.  Stroud hasn't shined enough in pressure spots to put him over Fields.
