Nebraska added its final scholarship addition to the class of 2020 on Friday evening when defensive back Nadab Joseph, previously at Independence Community College announced his commitment on social media on Friday evening.
The junior college defender had been a strong player of interest for the Huskers dating back to the 2019 spring, and Nebraska stuck with Joseph's recruitment for more than a year, as the defender told Husker247 earlier this summer that he was continuing to hear from Nebraska.
Joseph was once one of the more sought after prep players in the country, as a former Top247 defensive back in the 2018 class.
After sitting out a year, he enrolled at Independence Community College and played as a freshman. The defender held nine offers per his profile, including Alabama and Georgia, two teams heavily involved in his recruitment prior to his arrival at Independence.
Alabama hosted Joseph for a camp in 2019 and a the event the defender recorded a 4.4 40-yard dash time and registered a near 40-inch vertical.
Joseph, originally out of the Miami area, prompted one of the fiercest SEC recruiting battles during the 2018 cycle, as the defender actually committed to LSU and Alabama before a signing day decision with Georgia.
Since that time Joseph has played some with Independence, with eight tackles across five games, starting in October.
Nebraska had only one spot remaining to fill out the 2020 class. The Huskers signed four defensive backs in the cycle, but Henry Gray elected to enter the transfer portal after spending several months in Lincoln prior to the COVID-19 shutdown. Then earlier in July, Jaiden Francois did the same thing, after enrolling early at Nebraska this past winter.
